Hi Hatten,

Yes. Doctor will proceed sperm wash before the 'injection' to the eggs. The purpose of the sperm wash is a effort to catch best quality sperm .

Hello Every body,

I would really appreciate whole heartedly for all members of this forum for providing information on ivf

I need you assistance, i am planning to get IVF done.

My name is mahi 29 yrs. i got married in 2006, only trying for kids for the last 2 years, till now i haven't conceived. i have been to many doctors, i am basically an Indian and moving places along with my hubby because he is a contract aircraft engineer.

I have been to a doctor in Singapore first, she has done all sorts of tests and said no problem all good, they we tried few months no result, they we happen to leave sin and went back to India, doctor in India did the same test again and said ovaries block with cyst, she did laproscopy to clear the cyst, and was on medication for 6 months with clomid but no result.

Now we are in Malaysia (Subang jaya) we are visiting Dr delaila ahmed of SJMC since july 2010, she also did few more tests and said no problem. she has done IUI for 2 time and its not successful. now she advice me to go for IVF. she also advice me DR Harris at SJMC for IVF. can any of you know about this DR? Hi Mahi,

Welcome to this forum. Sorry I dun know any doctor at Subang Jaya, but Dr Prashant is an Indian guy. He is famous in IVF. Maybe you can try to visit him. But he is located at Damansara Height, next to HELP college building. Here is his website: www.klfertility.com.

Currently, I am still under 2ww after the ET. Today is day 10, so far got no symptom for this moment. Waiting for blood test next week. For me I think he is good, but the price is not cheap also. I can say is average. Hope this can help.

Janice,

Thanks for the info. Because i dun have eggs retrieval process ( I am using donor egg), so I dun know how to count the implantation day.

The donor eggs fertilised in day 3 and frozen. so implantation mean from the eggs collection day + another 3 to 7 days? Yes doctor did put me on progrestrone, it is a vaginal insertion tablets. But I dun really have any symptom. Today already day 7 after egg transfer...I start to feel worry.... :(

Hi lovebaby,

Implantation Day is all up to the contact the embryo has with the uterus lining. Hence, if your Egg Transfer was on Day 3, the embryo needs to grow into blastocyst stage (day 5), then will implant between Day 6 and Day 12 (normally). If it doesn't implant, then the monthly period will arrive.

I didn't feel any pregnancy symptoms until Day 13, so just sit back and rest. Don't stress, it's not good for you.

All the best to you:)

Hi Mahi,

My husband and I had a very bad experience at SJMC. We had attended a Doctor's appointment for fertility treatment and the senior doctor had somewhat issues with his mental state and told us to check Wikipedia on how the fertility procedure would be because he would be doing the same! I AM NOT KIDDING! There was another Doctor standing behind him just to watch the meeting. My husband and I NEVER went back. Please don't waste your time there, their track record is not great.

The best clinics around include KL Fertility (Dr. Prashant), Sunway Medical near Subang (Dr. Wong) while are closest to you. Call them for costing. I went to Dr. Wong, he charges RM 14,900 for consults, medicines and ICSI procedures all inclusive. Good luck to you. Also, don't bother with TMC, their standard have dropped tremendously since the shareholding was sold off.

Hi Janice,

Thanks Janice for the support. Ya, I try not to put too much stress and dun want to think about it. Another 3 more days, I will know the result.

Will bare with it. I did call my doctor and ask for advise. He told me all those symptoms are due to the side effect of the medicine which caused by the hormone change. So he ask me to ignore it until the blood test. I do remember that after FET, day 3 morning, I do have some abdominal pain, some sort like muscle pain, until I wake up. Then it is gone. Day 5 morning, I feel the same. After that, no more symptom. I hope this is the good sign :)

Hi Mahi .

I recent visited a doctor in SJMC on IVF(DR Lee). I will start my IVF on Dec due to the doctor will not be around next month.

So far, my experience with him, he very professional and explain to you what would you expect with your current age.

Maybe you can try him? Sometime, it is not the doctor, It just the chemistry between the doctor and the patient.

May i know who is the doctor you seen in SJMC which caused you have a bad experience?

Hi Lovebaby,

If the eggs were yours, and it was collected from you, then the pain is normal. Since you used donor eggs, then the pain could be Implantation cramps. If it is, then it could be a good sign,

Your Doc is right, if you feel symptoms early in the 2 week wait, it is because of the Progesterone medication and injections. All fertility specialists will tell you to ignore all symptoms until your blood test. I felt all those symptoms from medicines also. However at Day 13, I had blurred vision and change in smells...that really got me suspecting that I was pregnant. :)

Good luck to you!

Hi Mahi,

Please don't be upset. Sometimes, you may just get lucky and your doctor at SJMC is good. There are several doctors there. The one that really scared us, was an Indian doctor. I have forgotten his name, it's been almost 3 years.

Dr. Prashant is at KL Fertility and you can get details at http://www.klfertility.com

Dr. Wong is at Sunfert where you can get details from http://www.sunfert.com/

My history is that my husband and I had been to SJMC. The doctor recommended a vasectomy reversal. We paid so much, does not work. Then went to see a urinologist whom I think was Dr. Lee and he asked us to go see his colleague, and Indian Dr. whom I've forgotten his name. Apppointment with this doctor was the most unprofessional. We got so scared, we never went back.

We later went to Damansara Fertility, while just starting the procedure, it got bought up by Tropicana Medical Center (TMC). We tried ICSI there twice, there was no change in anything between CYcle 1 and cycle 2.

We later heared that since the buy-over, the focus of the business was more on money-making instead of actual passion in getting couples pregnant.

So, we went to Dr. Wong at Sunfert. He came very highly recommended by several independent doctors. With Dr. Wong, we paid less than with TMC. Dr. Wong was very professional and very passionate in what he was doing. He also monitored my medication down to each day, added other medications to help. I am thankful for Dr. Wong as am now almost 21 weeks (5 months) pregnant.

It's a very difficult journey. Even with the best doctors, there is no 100% guarantee it would work. However, I do believe that it's important to get a doctor who will do what he can to help.

Wishing you the very best.

This is really good news! Brownish discharge is OK. Sometimes, it is associated with implantation bleeding, where the embryo drills to the uterus wall. A faint line is very good news.

I'm hoping you get a wonderful answer!

Hi all,

Some infosharing……

Some of youmay curious to know, why there are so many medicines we need to consume pre andpost of IVF treatment and what is the purpose of each of the medicines and theside effect.

Here aresome info gathered after I consult withdoctor and nurses:

1) Progynova:This is a hormone medicine that use to control our uterus lining. The medicinewill help to thicker the uterus lining in order to assist for the embryoimplantation. This is also the birth control pills for those who wish toprevent for pregnancy. Once you stop the medicine, after few days, the estrogenlevel will decrease and your uterus lining will drop and menstrual will comeaccordingly.

Side effect: reproductive system and breast disorders.

2) Utrogestan/Progesterone: To stronger our womb to support for the baby. This can be doneeither by vaginal insertion or injections. When you have bleeding or spottingafter the implantation, progesterone hormone level is necessary to stronger thewomb.

Side effect: No major sideeffect, some patients may feel dizziness and breast sor

3) Duphaston:is a hormone replacement therapy medicine. Duphaston is indicated for thetreatment of progesterone deficiencies. For IVF purpose, which related, such astreatment of endometriosis, cessation of menstruation, treatment fordysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Side effect: Breast cancers, breast swelling/ pain/ tenderness,,endometrial hyperplasia (abnormal growth of the inner lining of the uterus),endometrial carcinoma (cancers)

Hope theinformation above can help for those having IVF process.

Anyone have the same experience and can share?
