Hi, I have a 4 yo boy and I realized he has a very bad habit of doing things, he does it extremely slow, ie: he eats slow, changes his cloths slow, picks up toys slow, he even purposely walks/reacts slow when he is given a task to do, and this happens every day. He has no problem running and walking like normal if he is playing, but once you ask him to do things, for eg: "go to the toilet, we need to take a ride soon", you will notice him spending time in the kitchen first, probably take a sip of water, then walk extremely slow to the toilet, and when he reaches the toilet, he starts asking us to take off his pant for him (he can do that without any problem during normal days), he will say he can't reach the sink to wash his hand and etc, tonnes of reasons to delay the process. Sometimes, he even delays until the extent where he just stands still looking at us, and says, "ask me to close the door eh ... ask me to wash hand eh .. ! ". Many people say he is being manja, but he knows he'll get himself into trouble if he does that, but why is he still doing it? are there really child that is craving to be punished?

I've been searching the net to learn on how to deal with kids like this, some of the sites refers this type of child as Slow Temperament child, but I don't think this is the case cos according to those articles, Slow Temperament child usually refers to child whom is slow to warm up, but my child is slow in everything. Even his kindy teacher complains to us saying he is slow, always being the last to finish his meal, being the last to finish homework, last to get ready on queue, last to complete the craft and etc. However, teacher also mentioned he is good in learning, he understand the what the textbooks say, he did good in exam and etc. But why is him being so slow in doing things???

Hi Parents,

Last year I have delivered my baby (2.1kg) at Columbia Asia Seremban under the O&G Dr. Khoo Kong Beng. Right after the birth, on the pediatric checkup, we have told by the pediatrician, Dr Chin that my baby was born with foot deformity, hip dislocation, both leg bone is curved/ bend!. We were surprised to hear the news because we haven�t being told anything during my pregnancy ultrasound by Dr. Khoo.

Recently, my baby is confirmed a diagnosis of a disease called �Osteogenesis Imperfecta�, ie: Brittle Bone Disease. We learned from the diagnosis that those deformities could be detected during pregnancy ultrasound if a detail scan is done, eg: the bowed leg bones should have been seen in the ultrasound.

As I recall the monthly pregnancy checkup with Dr. Khoo, I can remember that he only spent 5mins on the consultation including scanning each time. I didn�t feel I am being consulted and monitored. All I know about pregnancy is from book. At my 20^th week, my blood pressure result shown high but he didn�t even mentioned that to me. On my 28^th week, I felt dizzy and nearly fainted so I went to normal clinic, doctor advised me to go straight to my O&G Dr. Khoo for more detail check. I went on the same day and expect something serious checking from Dr. Khoo but ended up nothing. Each ultrasound scan seem perfect, in fact my baby was extremely underweight (if compared to the grow chart). Will any parents out there concern about their baby weight only 1.5kg at 30^th week? But you know what Dr. Khoo has consulted? He had comforted us with �OK�.

Starting from 28^th to 34^th week you expected your baby to turn down to ready for delivery. I have always insisted to have normal delivery so I told Dr. Khoo that I will wait till 36^th week, and you know what he said to us at my 34^th week? He said �I can guarantee your baby will not down� so he advised a c-section right after that day. We were surprised to hear that because we guess he should have known/ expected something that he didn�t tell us upfront. But we hear nothing from him still. Additionally, due to my high blood pressure, ie: 170/90, so I have no choice but to go for the next day c-section. So my baby was born at 37^th week 4 days at 2.1kg (I know it sounds super underweight).

Honestly, my pregnancy checkup with this O&G was a bad experience. We would have expected the doctor to be honest, detail and kind to us in everything. So I urge any of you PLEASE DO NOT GO FOR THIS DOCTOR � KHOO KONG BENG! I know Seremban have not much private hospital out there, and everyone keep recommended him, but please I do not think he is the best in town. I�d rather go to government�s if with that much of money I have paid but ended up didn�t even get the thing I want. This is my point of view, but it is up to you!

I'm happy went I get to know I'm pregnant last year October 2011 (married Dec 2010)
I went to Damo Clinic & Maternity Centre, Klang for check-up, they scan me and give some medicine
My last visit to Damo, is Saturday, 29th Nov, the Dr said (Christina - sounds like that her name) said my baby OK, heart beat OK, everything is OK, I do tell to Dr that I was bleeding - brown, pink, red colour, and she said .. maybe you are weak, so give me an injection ..
But, Nov 3rd.. I have a teribble pain (yesterday night I do have, though wanted to go clinic, but the next day I feel OK, so went to work as usually)
the pain, like killing me, I can feel I'm bleeding and also pain so much! Finally, I asked my friend help me and my manager brought me to Cyberjaya Clinic, then straight to Putrajaya Hospital.
Went minor surgery .. and my left fallopian tube removed ;-(
32 day MC.. (if I'm late I might not alive, thank God, I went to work, because I really can't move, if I stayed at Home alone, what will happen??)

I need some advice -
When I can start plan for baby and how to avoid this things happen again in the future?
Which Dr or Hospital to go, (I'm stayed at Puchong) prefer female Dr
Do I need meet Dr before I plan for baby?
Is there any traditional food I can take, to improve my health to get pregnant?

We made our two families into a complete home, my husband has a girl named Lily and I have a boy and a girl( they are jackie and rose). Though the three kids get along very well, I don't know how to deal with lily when she did something wrong because she think I don't love her if I speak loudly to her. And she doesn't like to tell me what happened to her. Indeed, I'm a cruel stepmother in her mind. I just got a CD for my friend, who is pregnant for the 2nd time round and being a somewhat grumpy for her usual bubbly self. Got her this CD thats apparently great for pregnant mummy to relax (I personally have this CD for myself to get myself to sleep. LOL). And well well well, it helps her - somehow. Haha... Can't say it cures it all (it's not magic anyway) but it helps her mind and body to relax. Not easy since her first kid is all annoyed that mummy don't pamper her as much. Heard fr her that she uses that CD to calm her kid down whenever she's being all hyper.

Any of you uses music for similar purpose?
