Hi all,
I have also been prescribed clomid, and the recent one is my 2nd dosage. No increase from the 1st one.
I first took clomid early Oct, then on day 10, doc gave an internal ultrasound and checked that there's one egg growing inside the ovarium, but it's only 1cm. I went 2 times more b4 my egg reached its ideal size of 2.2cm. Then on that day too, doc injected gonandotropin to help release the egg. I was advised to have intercourse aft 36hours of the injection. Then, was asked to return if I missed my period or if I get my period, then back to c him for another round of clomid.
Sadly, I had my period again early Nov. I've just completed clomid yesterday, and was asked to c him tmrw. But I'll try to delay til Thu. This doc just trying to get my money I guess. Cos every visit cost me RM75 just to check the size of the egg! Less than 5 mins I'm out of the clininc already (aft waiting for hours!)
My gynae kept pushing me to have a minor surgery to check the tubes and ovarian drilling. It costs RM2.5k and I can be discharged on the same day. Op at 8am then 5-6pm can leave.
I dunno if this is laparascopy or not, cos my fren who went thru it said it cost rm6k and need to stay in the hosp for a few days.
May I know which gynae u all have been seeing? My gynae charges RM45 for consultation fee, and RM30 for ultrasound.
Thanks.

starfall78 : May i know which gynea you see, which hospital ? Me at TDMC .
Me too, i'm on my 2nd clomid cycle.. No baby but got period
Goin to see gynea tom.Yeah i agree gotto wait for hours and she just scan and leave . Then come back again after 2 days.. Suppose visit doctor on day 10. But she ask me to come back on day 14-15 again to minitor the size of the ovum..
Yeah got injection also (RM100)
I didn't ask about the surgery price.. My doctor didn't push me to do the surgery. She say after 3rd cycle of clomid fail, then only check on fallopian tube see got blockage or not. And not necessary surgery sometimes medication also can woh.
My fees depends on size of ovum. If clomid no effect (RM30) if not too big (RM45) if that day got injection then $$ RM85 + RM100 (injection) But the 1st visit fees very $$$ RM299.
Tomorrow i'm goin to visit her again. I think i gotto buy clomid for my 3rd clomid cycle.

Hi Sukkimi,
Glad to have someone to share!
My doc is in QHC medical ctr in USJ. His clomid is RM50, ultrasound RM30 and consultation RM45, injection RM95.
What's yr doc's charges for ultrasound and consultation?
My first visit was only RM139, include consultation, breast exam, ultrasound, pap smear and folic acid. I found the fees were quite reasonable at that time. But subsequently, a bit pricey lah. Is this the market rate? Cos he's got good reputation.
Abt the check-the-tubes procedure, I read from the Internet that when the gynae suspect blockage of tube(s), he would do a procedure where a tiny pipe is inserted thru the vagina and a dye/gas is blown into the tubes and aft awhile, he would check if the dye/gas is out from the tube or not.
Another procedure is to make a small incision below the belly button, and a tiny pipe with camera is inserted, then the dye/gas is blown into the tubes. This procedure also uses Xray to see the movement of the dye/gas. This is more accurate as, if there's a blockage, it'll give the doc the exact spot/area of the blockage.
Most probably ,my gynae is doing the 2nd one, as he mentioned abt the small incision to be made. I'll clarify with my doc abt this procedure on Thu.
If possible, would u ask how much is your doc's fees for the procedure to check the tubes? Also, wat medication is she referring to, which could clear up the blocked tubes?
I wish u all the best for yr visit today. Pls update again. fingers crossed that this time would be it.
Thanks.

Hi sukkimi, starfall78,
Thanks for sharing.
I'm now in my second cycle of clomid.
My gynae said she will not give me clomid anymore, if it is not successful this round. She said I'm responding well to clomid, could be other reason why I cannt conceive.
next step is I have to go for laproscopy which will cost be Rm4k.
my gynae charges RM85 for consultation and scanning, RM110 for the injection.

mrstan, starfall78 : wah all of us also goin same boat (clomid)..
I went for my visit today (2nd Cycle Clomid) the doctor say cannot see the ovary wor - Sippose the ovary size grow clear and enlarge then egg come out (i think something like that) So she give me a medication called "glucohapge" which is a diabetic medicine. I'm not in diabetic though, but according to my doctor my ovum is quite "degil" to come out. so she give me this medicine suppose to (reduce the degil-ness)
My consulation fees RM30, Admin RM5, Medicne RM24, Procedure RM7 ( but i think depends one) if can see ovary enlarge then she charged higher.
I will be visiting my doctor again this Fri. Will update u ladies the progress. Ya, i will check with her if i were to undergo the "tube scan" which method and how much.

Dear All, thanks for sharing!
I went to my gynae today (day 9 from my 1st day of period) and after checking, doc told me I might have ovulated oledi! Wat?? day 9 only wor. Last round of clomid, I ovulated on day 14. Now only day 9 and my egg's out and gone missing! Doc could only see some cysts (he said this is normal) and told me I was bleeding inside. So, he asked me to have intercourse every other day, natural method for this time round.
He asked me to return when I'm a week late, or on the 2nd day if my period comes. But he did advise me to go for the 'something' laparoscopy (not exactly a proper laparascopy). I asked for more details, he said, it's making the incision under belly button, and a tiny telescope is inserted to observe the reproductive organs inside. To check if there's any fibroid, cyst or even scarring on the womb, etc.
If all's fine, then he'd check the tube by blowing in the dye/gas. If one tube is blocked, there's still hope for natural conception with the other tube. But if both tubes are blocked, then have to do test tube baby.
My doc told me it's ok to take 4 rounds clomid in a year. But like mrstan's doc said, if our body is responding well with clomid, but still no conception, it's better to go thru the procedure to check inside. My doc told me it's RM2500.
So, as at now, I'll 'work hard and pray hard', if no conception, then I may go for the laparascopy thing.
It's important to have positive thinking at all times, cos the brain may mess up all the hormon production we need when we are under stress.
All the best to all, and pls update as often as possible. Thanks and regards.

Hi all,
Ya positive thinking is important. My doctor also told me "never give up" and clomid can be taking "on and off" . In fact is the most basic form of medicine with least side effects.
I told doctor i wanna stop clomid and go for other "option/ investigation ". She suggest me to go for "scan" she say my case "X-Ray" will do which cost a couple of hundred. She did not say exact cost.
If Got Blockage
If scan show " one tube blockage" can take medicine .
If "both blockage" -- Surgery. She say if surgery, most patient would option to do the process ( dunno what to call) extract both ovum and sperm then implant into female body. But very $$$ cost Rm10-15K each time and is not 100% success rate.
If no Blockage
Doctor say if no bloackage , will come back to clomid. She say my body does not react well to clomid . (My current dosage is 2 tablet) might increase to 4 tablet (After i do scanning & found no bloackage) . There are other option of medicine , but got higher side effect.
Today's Scanning
Went for scanning today (2nd Clomid cycle) could not see "eggs clearly" - Doctor say it might due to my hormones that my egg "degil" to come out from the ovary. Even though that i have period monthly- sometimes the eggs does not ovulate also.
Today's Solution
Since my eggs are "degil" to come out , Dr gave me clomid (again). Very different this time, as i normally take clomid on 2nd day of period. Today (day 15), i'm taking again (kind of restart my system) . Then day 10th visit doctor.
I did ask her why my eggs "degil" is there because food i taken causing these problems. She only say hormones wor..
In my case i'm still not 100% sure its due to my hormones / blockage - as i have not done the blockage scan yet.
Hope to hear from the rest of you. Jia You to all of us! And never give up!

Thanks for the update, Sukkimi.
I believe if there's blockage in both tubes, then only option is test tubu baby or IVF. Doc will extract as many eggs as possible, then give medication to prepare the womb and necessary hormon to sustain pregnancy, then sperm will be injected manually into the egg, and left it to grow/multiply to certain amount of cells. Once ready, the fertilised egg will be inserted into the womb. Normally, doc will insert a few eggs at a time, so the chance of successful pregnancy is higher. Cos sometimes, let's say out of three, only one will survive. But if all survive then...wah...triplets! hehe.
My friend has been doing this for 2 times. First time is RM20k (plus drawing eggs out from the ovary), then each insertion costs RM5k.
The thing abt this procedure is, not all eggs which the doc drew out are good eggs. So, sometimes need a few insertions to be successful, and it's really depends on one's fate.
So, let's jia you then. I wish to be as much natural as possible. To save $$ too. hehe.
